The Brain

Brain Diseases

As most of you know, the brain is the most important part of the body. Some people think that the heart might be, but they are wrong. The brain runs everything that's in your body. Every cell, organ, and molecule takes their orders from the brain. The brain is what keeps your body running.
Sadly, there are diseases that can affect the brain. These diseases are very harmful and are very likely to take the victim's life. Anything that happens to the brain can be deadly.
Cancer, Alzheimer's, Autism, and Strokes are all major issues that could happen to the brain.
Cancer can be caused by literally anything. Most of the main symptoms of brain cancer are headaches, vomiting, double vision, along with many others. If you ever have symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. Brain Cancer can be detected by an MRI scan or a CAT scan. There re several ways to treat cancer, but some of the treatments may or may not help. Treatments include surgery to remove the cancer, radiation therapy, and laser surgery.
Alzheimer's disease is a very sad disease because this attacks the memory cells. The victims of this disease begins to lose memory and slowly start to forget everything. They will forget their loved ones, which is why you can see this disease is very sad. As the disease continues to progress, the victim will begin to forget how to do everyday things in their life like brushing their teeth or cooking food. Sadly, there are not very many treatments for this disease. This disease can be a slow progress which can make losing your loved ones even worse.
Autism is another major disease that affects the brain, but not as serious as the other diseases. This disease usually impairs the victim's ability to communicate. This would lead to struggling to have friends and having a good social life. Most of the victims, however, are young children who can be taught and figure out how to deal with the disease. Since this is possible, they could find friends and be able to live a regular life. There are a lot of different medications that are available for autism victims that are very effective.
Strokes are very deadly because they are caused by a rupture or blockage of an artery that supplies blood to the brain. These can lead to paralysis, memory loss, and vision loss. These events are scary and if you ever see someone who is having a stroke, call an ambulance immediately. When a person has a stroke, there are several rehab processes they will have to go through starting with physical therapy. Physical therapy will help the victim start walking again if they have not been paralyzed by the event. There are not very many treatments after a stroke.
As you can see, there are deadly and extremely harmful diseases that can effect the brain so always take caution in what you do. Your brain is the most important part of your body, so take good care of it.

  1. Hey Zach, I like that you talked about this topic as I was very interested I think that many people don't think about the down sides of what can happen to your brain unless they have experienced it or know someone who has. I did find the blog was a little overwhelming, maybe some more pictures next time or something. Otherwise it was very interesting to hear what you had to say.

  2. Informative. I had a look at http://www.humanbrainfacts.org/human-brain-diseases-list.php source, it looks like you have based your entire post on just one resource. I will encourage to further explore much more deeper by compiling information from multiple resources to demonstrate your learning and effort.
